The time has come for me to start working on my honours project. For it, I intend to create a simple program that game artists can use to turn photographs / textures into materials to use in game engines. Below is an image of a simple UI design that I intend to use for the application, below that is a video showing a small program I made earlier that can read images, apply a shader to them in real time, and then write out a screenshot. It uses GLFW, GLEW, SOIL and some standard libraries. It also uses a Shader class from Joey de Vries who provides online tutorials for writing OpenGL projects.

It's a small game made in C++ with none of those fancy shmancy engines you get nowadays. A little 2D shoot-em-up set in space, using the SFML library.
At the moment I've got the keyboard controls in and a little bit of sound. Below is a short video of what I've got so far. |
